Circa 1800, this wooden drum from Guadalajara, Mexico, was once used to make cheeses. Milk would first be poured into the tub which, thanks to the wood's porous nature, acted as a natural starter culture. Today, this rustic artifact can be used as a display vessel, or admired all on its own.
